Sweet Home Chicago Indeed

Chicago Advocates Hear the Latest in Microbicide Research and Advocacy News - Direct from New Delhi, India








Direct from Delhi - Microbicides 2008 Comes to Sweet Home Chicago, a community forum sponsored by the Chicago Women and Girls HIV Prevention Coalition and IRMA, June 25 in downtown Chicago, provided an update on the current developments in microbicide research and advocacy - direct from the Microbicides 2008 conference held in New Delhi, India.

Approximately 50 advocates attended the event - including folks from Planned Parenthood, Chicago Foundation for Women, Chicago Women's AIDS Project, African American Women Evolving, the American Civil Liberties Union, Project WISH, the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and its Junior Board, the city health department, and more.

Speakers included Latifa Boyce of the Alliance for Microbicide Development who talked about the microbicide pipeline (click here for her slides), Jim Pickett of IRMA who focused his remarks on rectal microbicides (click here for his slides) and Dazon Dixon Diallo of SisterLove, Inc. who placed everything into a human rights context.
