IRMA Wants You

Are you concerned that for every two people who begin treatment for HIV/AIDS, another five are newly infected?

Do you think it is important to have user-initiated, user-controlled prevention for both women and men?

Are you concerned about the disproportionate impact of HIV on gay men and other men who have sex with men in both the Global North and South?

Are you looking for a research topic that is rather new, challenging but promising?

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by HIV and at high risk for the infection?
Do you question what the term “heterosexual transmission” really means?

If you answered “yes” to at least one of these questions you are on the right page. International Rectal Microbicide Advocates (IRMA) would like to invite you to join over 650 advocates, leading scientists and policy makers from 50+ countries who work to enhance the development and research of rectal microbicides - agents that could provide protection against HIV during anal intercourse, one of the major modes of HIV transmission worldwide.

You may find more information on IRMA activities and the advantages of being an IRMA member here. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming involved with the IRMA network; we look forward to your correspondence and future cooperation.
