The BOTTOM Line in Safer Sex

Both men and women participate in receptive anal intercourse - and globally, much of this behavior is unprotected.

An act of unprotected anal intercourse is 5 to 80 times more likely to result in HIV transmission compared to an act of unprotected vaginal intercourse.

The world needs all kinds of microbicides - both vaginal and rectal - to help stem the tide of new infections.
